With the aim of protecting the environment and natural resources and supporting the greening efforts in the capital, CCIC claimed a 60,000 square-meter green space at 2# Southern Zone in Beijing Olympic Forest Park before the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.  This green space, therefore, was named as “CCIC Youth Wood”.

In July 2008, CCIC organized a voluntary labor day for the newcomers in the CCIC Youth Wood.
